Reading the bible missionally
The proclamation of the gospel must be done in a manner appropriate to the situation of the hearers. This varies with place and different opinions and is made possible by means of missional reading of the bible. This is done by appropriating the views and previous experiences of the other persons, in order to be reached oneself and anew by the gospel, and so to be able to communicate the gospel with these others. The author depicts the process systematically, discusses relevant literature and demonstrates a missional reading of the parable of the prodigal son from the viewpoint of a senior citizen in a largely unchurched region of Germany.
