The author considers free-church liturgics from historical, systematic and pragmatic perspectives, whereby it is significant, that there is a multitude of free-church forms of worship service. Whereas the Methodist Church in Germany is the only one among the free churches that has an official agenda, the Association of Mennonite Churches has a loose guideline and there is resistance against liturgical forms among the other congregationalist free churches. Most often the main problem is linking the desires for form and for freedom in the worship service. The author presents six liturgical dimensions for a service. Practical tasks, such as liturgical didactic, as well as a critical accompaniment and development of the liturgical forms in free churches remain to be done.
